August Challenge

Welcome to the Bleeding Art Challenge Blog! We're not only all mixed media all of the time but anything goes all of the time!

I have an announcement to make regarding the blog: we're going to be on a little break as far as the challenge side of things goes until the October 15th challenge. Personal family issues have arisen for me (Cathy) and I need to focus my attention there. We'll also no longer have guest designers - but we will continue with winner's/runner's up badges and prize sponsors! We also still have 2 guest designers lined up for Aug and Sep which we will post. And we'll have our July winner's post as usual on 18 Aug so come back for that. I thank everyone for your continued support of Bleeding Art and the enthusiasm you show and the beautiful talent of everyone that participates 💕

I also want to introduce 2 new DTs to the team! They'll be gracing us with their mixed media magic in the upcoming months so stay tuned! Check out their social media sites as well by visiting our DTs tab!

We have a previous challenge winner back with us as a guest designer - welcome Uroo Creations!

Hello creative minds - hope you all are doing well. My name is Monika Tripathi Shukla (aka UrooCreations in the virtual world), born and raised in India, now residing in Abu Dhabi, UAE. In academics, I hold a degree of Ph.D. in Biotechnology and also worked as a researcher for more than 5 years. I am married to a very patient husband who understands me very well. I decided to be a full-time mother when my son came into my world, so now I'm a crafter by profession. Irony it may seem but yes that’s how life works. I started crafting in 2017 as my passion and profession.  My family motivates me a lot. My lovely siblings keep me inspired and on my toes in putting forward my best. My parents have always been part of me through thick and thin of my life.  Crafting and painting have been my hobby since I was a child. My grandmother and mother inspired me always with her artistic acumen. I do not restrict myself to a certain style. I love experimenting with new styles when it comes to crafting, till now my favourite are Mixed Media Art, Up-Cycling and Scrapbooking. I worked as Designer for My Happy Packs, Tubby Craft and CrafTreat in the past. As of now I design for an Indian brand "Mudra Craft Stamps", Spanish paper manufacturer "Papers For You" along with some blog challenges.

I made two mixed media mini notebooks for today. I wanted to recycle plastic from a milk container, so I made these house-shaped books using plastic. The bright colours, amazing textures, and final finish with the waxes made these tiny notebooks look wonderful.

It is an honour to be here on Bleeding Art today. My heartfelt thanks to sweet Cathy and the whole team for so much love and giving me this wonderful opportunity. I Hope you all will love these altered notebooks, my creative friends. If you want to see how I made these notebooks, please visit here for Step by Step Tutorial. Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful project, Monika! Be sure to check out her social media sites!

DON'T FORGET: Starting 1 September, we're launching a sister blog - Steampunk Challenge Blog!

You can check out the blog now and follow us beforehand to participate! We'll be doing cool mood boards to challenge your creativity as well as Anything Goes mixed in! If you love the Steam ° Grunge ° Industrial style, you're going to love it!
