May Challenge - Anything Goes

Welcome to the Bleeding Art Challenge Blog! It's May and it's anything goes!

Create a mixed media project - anything you'd like, no special theme or subject! But be sure to check the rules page beforehand so you know what kinds of projects we accept and the requirements for your entry. Those not complying won't be considered in judging!

And we've got March's winner back with a marvelous project! Meet Alison!

For most of my life, my creativity wasn't really on the visual side. I was more the words, music, books and theatre type. I've been lucky enough to work in theatre as an actor, and now as a text & voice coach and Shakespeare specialist. When I became a freelancer in Spring 2012 after eight years at the Royal Shakespeare Company, it was supposed to give me more time for friends and family. I had no idea that within weeks I would be in thrall to a whole new creative passion - stamps/inks/paints/texture - you name it, I want to play with it... there's always something new to learn, discover and explore. Now I have to balance the two worlds - hence the name of my blog, Words and Pictures. I love mixed media work, and more recently watercolours have become a new obsession. Nature is usually at the heart of my inspiration and words almost always play a part too.

For the Anything Goes theme, I've indulged myself with some of my favourite things - blues & browns, texture and dimension, metal and fabrics, lots of inky loveliness and, of course, some crackled words.

Thanks so much, Alison, for being our guest designer! You can see more about this project on Alison's blog!
